About James Graham

James Graham is an English composer who currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up listening to the “Three B’s of Classical Music” — Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms — which cemented his love of classical and orchestral music. In high school, James would frequently carry blank staff paper in his backpack… just in case inspiration struck while he walked between classes. As he developed a more intense interest in film and video game soundtracks, it was obvious to his friends and family that James would want to write music, too.

In April 2018, James participated in Visible Poetry Project’s National Poetry Month by contributing a score to the short film, Ghosts and Fashion, which was featured on April 2, 2018. In September 2018, James received the Independent Short Awards’ Platinum Award for Best Original Score, for Lara. James’ music has been heard on screens at prestigious festivals across the United States and internationally, including SOHO International Film Festival, Screamfest LA, Atlanta Horror Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, New York City Poetry Festival, and the Jaipur Literature Festival.

James is a frequent collaborator with director Gordon Shoemaker Foxwood, having provided original scores to three of his short films - Lara (2018), Ghosts and Fashion (2018), and Ten Shots (2020). James also contributed original music to Gordon’s short film Foxwood Forest (2021).

James graduated with honors from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Class of 2014, and is a member of the business honors society, Beta Gamma Sigma.
